Sharah, UAE — Mahani

MPG is proud to have commenced with the Mahani project in Sharjah, UAE which geological formation occupying about 200,000 square miles of the subsurface of the Area D Concession of Mahani, Sharjah. This would be the second exploration well drilled by MPG in the Arabian Peninsula after 18 years of the first well named Aghajari in Kuwait.

Mahani is a region that is home to the Marcellus and Utica shale formations. The well when completed will be multi-objective tight natural gas sand play area with up to 15 separate lower Cretaceous liquids-rich natural-gas-charged sand reservoirs. The primary vehicle for accessing the extensive reserves in these stacked sandstones is multi-stage fracture stimulation in both horizontal and vertical well-bores to make a minimum of 200MMcf/d of capacity.
